Gentle on their mouth, hard on tough plaque
Our Dental+ Treats are designed completely differently to hard dental chews (which can’t actually dislodge plaque once it’s formed). Instead of using abrasion, they contain an active ingredient called Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) – which has a long history of safe use in pet care.
When your pet eats a WellJoy Dental+ Treat, the SHMP goes into their saliva and coats the entire mouth, acting as a protective barrier. This stops calcium and other minerals from settling on teeth and beginning the slow formation of plaque – which is what turns into stubborn, hard-to-shift tartar. That SHMP protection stays in place for a few hours, so a treat once or twice a day can have a lasting impact.
A smarter ingredient list
Unlike many other pet dental products, which often contain flour or carbohydrates, our Dental+ recipe is protein-first.
It also includes parsley, which adds a natural, breath-freshening element thanks to its antibacterial, antimicrobial properties and its high chlorophyll content.
